Haley Turns One!

We celebrated our Haley Rose turning ONE on August 9th. We had a little Pink Lemonade party at my parent's house. My Mom and I took to calling Haley our little sunshine girl when she started really smiling around 4 months old. When I started to think about her first birthday the thought of summer, sunshine and lemonade just popped into my head. I didn't see a party or anything in that theme before I thought about it. Then I jumped on Pinterest and my head about exploded....lots of people had already thought of that theme! LOL

So I got lots of ideas from Pinterest and commissioned my Mom to warm up her Cricut and make all the party decorations. We had fun with it but we mainly wanted it to be a special day celebrating our little miss priss with friends and family. It was just that and we had a great day and Haley was in a perfect mood for her party. Without further ado, here are the pictures from her big day!

My Mom made the best strawberry lemonade! It was more like punch, it was so sweet. We drank all of it!

I got this idea from Pinterest and my Dad helped and cut the wood and assembled it. I painted it. I also used in some of Haley's recent professional portraits.

Favors were lemonade mixes and bubbles for the kids.

More of the decorations on the tables. My Mom did all of them! So cute!

I bought this old 6-pane window and knew I wanted to incorporate Haley's monthly pictures in it. My Mom took my pictures and window and turned it into this awesomeness!

Haley's adorable and delicious smash cake! It did not have the crack in it when the lady delivered it. I think somebody's little finger got into it (cough, cough Jonah). LOL

Here is out little sunshine girl right after she woke from her afternoon nap. She didn't know what to think about all these people here at her Nana's house.

We tried to get a family picture real quick before we did the cake but Jonah was not in the "mood" to be in a picture. Oh well at least we got one with the birthday girl.

Haley loved it when we sang her Happy Birthday!

Miss Priss didn't do much damage to her cake. She didn't know what to think of it....oh but she will one day. So brother helped her out.

Haley got lots of fun goodies to play with this whole next year and some cute clothes too. This a rocking chair that my in-laws gave her. It's a vintage one that will be worth a lot of money one day. But we intend to keep it for Haley to do what she wants with it one day.

Our sweet baby is growing up on us already even though we've told her many times to just stay little. We love Haley so much and can't wait to watch how she grows and learns!!

Jonah Turned 4!

Our little boy is growing up! Jonah turned 4 on July 21st!

We celebrated the Saturday before his birthday with a Mickey Mouse themed party. He has loved all things Mickey Mouse (and his friends) since around the time he turned 3. He was excited to also have a bounce house to play in at his party. It kept the kids entertained and wore them all out really well.

We had some unseasonably cool (record-setting, actually) temperatures for Jonah's birthday this year. It was in the low 80's all day and overcast on Saturday. Every year his birthday is always pretty weather but just scorching hot! So it was nice to have a break in that routine this year. My parents were kind enough to let us use their basement/carport/yard for his party this year. They have a lot more land and room for everyone to be together so it worked out well and we didn't have to clean our house either. LOL

Jonah loved jumping in the bounce house!

A friend from high school made his cake and it was not only adorable but so yummy too. It was chocolate cake with several layers of butter cream. Also, her fondant is the only kind I will eat. It is so yummy! She did an awesome job and Jonah loved it too. He said "it looks just like the clubhouse!"

The set-up in my parent's basement. They have one big open room with places to sit, play and set up tables for the food. It worked out great! My Mom was such a huge help to me with the decorations. She is so crafty and loves to create stuff. She made the banner, the centerpieces and the Mickey heads that we hung up.

We had several tables set up under my parent's big carport for eating at. It was gorgeous weather and everyone was comfortable being outside.

Jonah and Nana (my Mom) before the party got started.

Cheesing!!

I wanted to get a family picture but Haley was napping when we took this one and then once the party started I totally forgot.

Even the big kids got to jump in the bounce house!

Haley and Daddy! She wore a Mickey & Minnie dress for her brother's birthday.

Jonah and a couple of his buddies.

Briley and Neely in the bounce house.

Jonah got spoiled with so many new toys. Here he is opening one of our gifts to him, a guitar like Daddy's! He was so excited when he saw what it was. He loves to play it and use Daddy's pick.

We also got him a big boy bike. We can't believe our little guy is already 4! This past year seems to have flown right by but we are excited for all that Jonah will learn and do in the coming year.

Jonah's 3rd Birthday Party {Construction Zone}

This is my 200th post on my blog!! How fitting that it's for my little man's 3rd birthday party!

We had Jonah's 3rd birthday party at our house this year under the carport and by the pool. It was a pretty warm day but at least there was a breeze blowing the whole time. This year I jumped back into having a theme and we did a Construction Zone! He absolutely loves anything with wheels, tracks and diggers so it was perfect. He was really excited about his party this year and knew that his friends were coming to see him and sing Happy Birthday! We had a small gathering of close friends and family and enjoyed some Subway sandwiches, snacks, fruit and chocolate cake of course!

He got lots of great, new toys that I know he will enjoy playing with for months to come. We now have every kind of construction equipment toy there is, I think. LOL

I had a really fun time this year planning his party. The colors were orange, yellow and black for construction. I made his invitations and printed out a bunch of construction signs that I bought the digital file for. Then I just bought some caution tape and traffic cones and party supplies in the colors we did. That was about it this year....pretty easy.

Well enough talk....here are the pictures from Jonah's special day!

The birthday boy!!

Jonah and Emily with their hard hats on.

Jonah ready to party!

Cake table!

Party favors were Lowe's tool belts, plastic sand toys and candy.

The cake! I got a little too big of a cake but it was delicious. Wal-Mart does make good cake!

Michael and my brother, Kyle

Some of our crowd while everyone was getting their plates filled. We did a small table out of concrete blocks and plywood for the kids to sit at.

Getting Happy Birthday sung to him! This is about the only picture of all 3 of us. Oh well!

Blowing out his cone candles!

Loving eating some ice cream.

CHEESIN!

We broke out the sprinkler and blocked off the driveway to deter the kids from the road.

Mailbox decorations

Watching the little ones take turns running through the sprinkler.

Jonah really loved opening his presents this year. He opened them all!

Granny got him a basketball goal. He can almost reach the rim. LOL

His Poppa and Grandma got him a fire truck bed! We hope he will do well moving from the crib to this! We will attempt that after his little sister arrives though. :)

The leaf-blower was the favorite present of the day. After he opened each gift he would ask "can I have my leaf-blower now?" LOL Kyle and Mandy got him that. They win the favorite gift prize. LOL

We got him a sandbox for the yard to run all this construction trucks in and he has been enjoying it a lot already. I think he had a great day and he took a big nap after his party too. It was a fun day for all of us and I am so glad we were able to have his party before his little sis arrives.
